Ms. Siegel is a doctoral student in the Special Education and
Habilitative Services Department at the University
of New Orleans. She has taught students with behavioral disorders at both
the middle and high school levels. She is currently working on writing her
dissertation which compiles the results of the three studies on this webpage. She
has trained dogs most of her life. Her dog Bo Bo has appeared on commercials for
David Letterman's stupid pet tricks. She is currently involved in a project at
Oschner Hospital researching how dogs can help children in physical therapy, and
also active as a volunteer for the LASPCAbringing her dogs to entertain the

Jane Y. Murdock, Ph.D.
Dr. Murdock is Ms. Siegel's co-major professor along with Dr. James
Miller, the Chair of the Special Education and Habilitative Services
Department at the University of New Orleans. Dr. Murdock received her Ph.D.
in the fields of Educational Psychology, Speech Pathology, and Special Education
from the University of Utah. She has
taught at UNO for over 20 years.
April D. Colley, M.Ed.
Ms. Colley
is also a doctoral student in the Special Education and Habilitative
Department at the University of New Orleans. She has taught students with
behavioral disorders on a special school campus for four years.
