 Jim Killacky, MA, MSW, GSW, Ed.D

Publications
Jim Killacky is Associate Professor of Education. He was
born and raised in Ireland and came to the United States after completing high
school. He earned his doctoral degree at the Harvard University Graduate School
of Education. He holds Masters degrees in social work (Washington University)
and sociology (Kansas State University). His working life has centered around
community university linkages, with particular emphases in program planning,
design, implementation, evaluation, community leadership and resource
development in rural and urban settings. He has directed a number of programs
and projects at local and state levels (e.g. Upward Bound, Talent Search, Rural
Community Leadership, etc.). He has held university appointments at Kansas
State University, the University of Maine, North Carolina State University, and
Tulane University. His teaching and research interests are in adult and
community college education, community organization and education, leadership,
and the preparation or educators and other social service persons to enter
community settings. He has authored/co-authored three books, a monograph and
over thirty published articles.

Dr.
Meza is Dean of the College of Education and Professor in the Department of
Educational Leadership, Counseling, and Foundations. He is also Director of
the UNO Center for the Accelerated Schools Project. Dr. Meza received his
doctorate in educational administration from the University of New Orleans.
He has experience as Executive Director of the Louisiana State Board of
Elementary and Secondary Education and Interim State Superintendent of
Education in Louisiana. He has served as a member of the Southern University
Board of Supervisors, and chaired the Academic Affairs and Personnel
Committee for the Southern System. His teaching and research interest include
school law and finance, school restructuring, and school improvement.

Dr. Perry is an Assistant Professor of Education. He earned his doctorate in education policy and leadership with an emphasis in higher education from the University of Maryland. He received his masters and baccalaureate training at the University of Pittsburgh and Allegheny College, respectively. Dr. Perry's research and teaching interests are immigrant access and retention, philosophy of higher education, financial aid and finance, and the law of higher education. He held professional appointments in multicultural affairs, study abroad and scholarship/retention programming. Dr. Perry's most recent work aims to answer the research question, what appropriate principles of membership and benefit distribution should be applied in the debate of undocumented immigrant instate tuition benefits.
